Federal

Federal NSW

Turn left out of the driveway across a timber bridge, continue winding your way past dairy cows, cute weatherboard churches, macadamia plantations and farm stalls selling local produce, feast your eyes on endless rolling green fields and distant vistas and a few minutes up the road past the tiny village of Eureka you will come to the quaint village of Federal.  The original village called Jasper was born after the clearing of the Big Scrub for cattle, it has recently taken on a new lease of life since the opening of Doma Japanese restaurant, which has become a popular pilgrimage from Byron.  Federal also has a great little general store, post office, a café and the cult lifestyle and clothing store, Kultcha Collective. It is also the home of Jantana Interiors, the famed patterned encaustic tile distributor whose tiles grace the floors of Benny’s Cottage bathrooms.
